Olam launches end-to-end carbon management platform
It will support MAS' sustainability agenda.
Olam International announced the launch of GreenPass, a greenhouse gas digital information and smart carbon management system, on 9 November.
The platform aligns with the Monetary Authority of Singapore's (MAS) Project Greenprint, enabling a more open, trusted, and efficient ecosystem to support the financial sector's green and sustainability agenda. It will measure, monitor, manage, and verify the impact of their climate action strategies as they de-carbonise their business.
Olam Managing Director Suresh Sundararajan said, "We have learnt a lot on our sustainability journey and building our systems to measure and track our emissions. Based on this experience, we believe we can now help others do the same. This will create greater transparency and help companies and their stakeholders be sure that they are making a real impact and not just 'greenwashing'. We believe that this collaboration will accelerate more comprehensive ESG data and mobilisation of Green Finance, helping to establish Singapore as the Green Finance Hub in Asia and the world."
"MAS is happy to partner with Olam in the development of their smart carbon measurement, management and reporting platform. It will interoperate with Project Greenprint platforms to provide trusted, timely, and relevant data required to empower corporate climate action and unlock green finance flows to fund the sustainable transformation of the economy in Singapore, our region and across the globe," added MAS Chief Fintech Officer Sopnendu Mohanty.
