Why Noble can't be knocked off top spot in Singapore agribusiness industry

It has 108% gains since 2007.

According to CIMB, Noble has no directly comparable peers listed in Singapore. Notwithstanding differences in business models, Noble is often compared to fellow traders Olam and Wilmar.

Olam focuses purely on soft commodities (e.g. nuts, confectionery) while Wilmar handles edible oils and runs an integrated model spanning plantations to branded consumer products.

On a global basis, competitors include Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), Bunge, Cargill and Louis Dreyfus. Noble is the top performer among locally-listed traders.

Here's more from CIMB:

With 108% gains since 2007, it has comfortably beaten its peers and the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI). Over the last 12 months, the sector has lagged behind the STI as industry headwinds eroded profits across the sector.

But Noble’s share price has nevertheless fared better its peers’.
