Tech company Blue Prism bags two awards at SBR Management Excellence Awards
Its employee management initiatives and pandemic response solidified the company’s commitment to improving its work culture.
Blue Prism, a global leader in the enterprise robotic process automation (RPA) and intelligent automation, were recognised in the Management Excellence Awards in the Employee Engagement of the Year and COVID Management Initiative of the Year categories.
The Management Excellence Awards is presented by the Singapore Business Review, honoring noteworthy individuals or teams who made a huge contribution to a business' success, as well as employee engagements and COVID management initiatives that made a positive impact to its workforce or customers.
Blue Prism took a three-pronged approach to employee engagement with certification, care and creativity. As a technology firm, Blue Prism leveraged technology as a conduit for ensuring their employees’ needs are met. With the multiple digital platforms that were already put in place, Blue Prism certified their employees’ feedback by quantifying the impact the company had as an employer. As a testimony of the company’s care for their employees, Blue Prism used feedback to develop and implement Human Resource initiatives that tackled problems caused by the pandemic. Lastly, Blue Prism supported creativity by giving their staff the opportunity to suggest work arrangements that improve not just individuals, but the entire culture at Blue Prism.
The three-pronged approach was executed through digital touchpoints like chat bots, emails, surveys, engagement events such as Coffee with APAC GM, Pride Month celebrations, Friday catch up with teams, BPTV Live, BP Achieve, recognition wall, etc. These efforts were proven useful in the collection of useful data and feedback for the improvement of the company’s current arrangements.
The technology firm is dedicated to making their employees feel seen, understood and heard especially today as the pandemic continues to affect the way we live. Blue Prism acknowledges the fatigue caused by the pandemic and cultivates the strategies that have positively impacted the culture of the company. When governments in the Asia and Pacific region announced lockdowns, Blue Prism quickly implemented work from home as the default mode starting April 2020.
Employees were provided with a comfortable and conducive remote working environment despite not being at the office. With employee health and safety in mind, Blue Prism set up a taskforce to design New Ways of Working (NWOW) and to discuss the business continuity plan (BCP). The BCP, included initiatives that emphasised the optimization of business processes, enabling Blue Prism to continuously serve their customers and simultaneously accommodating the needs and wellbeing of their employees.
As a result of these programs, Blue Prism was recognised as a “Great Place To Work” across Singapore, Australia, UK, Japan and the US. As a testament to Blue Prism’s commitment to improving the work culture, employees have also reported increased transparency and efficiency in the communication flow within the company.
