CITIC Telecom CPC wins big in SBR Technology Excellence and International Business Awards
It won under the Telecommunication and AI-Data Center categories.
CITIC Telecom CPC has been at the forefront of bringing the latest in the telecommunications industry, and this time is upping the leverage by diving more into data centres and artificial intelligence synergies. In fact, the efforts of the company helped it being recognised in two of Singapore Business Review’s annual programmes.
The first one received by CITIC Telecom CPC is the Telecommunications award in the SBR International Business Awards, an annual awards programme that honours the most outstanding and innovative best practices amongst international businesses in Singapore.
The company won for its AI-driven IT network solution that streamlines visibility, security, and operations. It identified that one of the challenges to digitalisation is the absence of an intelligence operating model that can help monitor and manage networks from multiple locations.
To answer this, it introduced the AI-enhanced TrueCONNECT™ Hybrid, a software-defined wide-area networking (SD-WAN) technology that enables enterprises to manage and optimise complex and modern network topologies that connect multiple business sites, systems, and cloud platforms using artificial intelligence.
Particularly, it developed a solution that would enable network teams to proactively address SD-WAN issues such as lack of network visibility, security threats in remote sites, and lack of technical skills and knowledge.
It is likewise known as an innovative machine learning algorithm model that offers a smarter SD-WAN to customers.
An award-winning algorithm model, it was initially tested during the “AI Challenge” competition hosted by the Hospital Authority as part of its Smart Hospital transformation.
From here, it showed that the product helped manage critical surgical instruments, and proved that it can identify, locate, and count objects within 95 milliseconds or at a 99% accuracy.
It utilises AI, Big Data analytics, and Deep Learning methods to proactively recognise and predict abnormal behaviour in digital equipment and in systems.
The product’s algorithm conducts evidence-based dynamic probability calculations that continuously and automatically identify changes and timings, abet helps proactively achieve behaviour prediction and abnormal behaviour recognition.
Amongst the benefits the product offers include an application experience-oriented analysis, intelligent early warning and prediction, and better business intelligence analysis. These are also the same achievements noted by the judging panel in giving the award.
The second received by the company is the AI - Data Center award in Singapore Business Review’s Technology Excellence Awards.
The company won this award for its AI-AR Remote Hand Service project.
During the pandemic, CITIC Telecom CPC recognised that the supply chain processes have been disrupted in many organisations. To minimise this, the company leverages real data, intelligent algorithms, and modelling in industrial scenarios to build an AI platform.
Together with its data scientists, it developed the platform which consists of several solutions. It integrated AI-enabled cognitive object recognition solutions with other technologies, big data, blockchain, Internet of Things, and AR.
These were then integrated into the new AI-AR Remote Hand Service. The service allows users to collaborate with field engineers and backend operation centres to support Data Center maintenance services across multiple remote scenarios. The service integrates intelligent algorithms and AR equipment which resulted in a productivity increase of up to 50%.
This enhanced AR-based vision allows engineers to access service information at the data centre. Likewise, it enabled collaboration between frontline and backend teams in completing maintenance tasks.
Particularly, it transforms complex datasets into graphic visualisation that enables field engineers to “SEE” the issue and solve complex data centre issues faster.
In giving this award, the judging panel considered multiple achievements attained by the company.
First is that the AI-AR integrated service provides field workers with better computer vision capabilities. Using AR glasses, field users can access manuals and analyse data or graphics needed for maintenance.
The second is enabling business operations planning. This integrated service provides workers with extra information during operations. Essential information is shown with image visualisation and objects mapping in troubleshooting data equipment efficiently.
Third, it enhanced the customer service experience in all industries. The AI and AR functions allow companies to use predictive and prescriptive data. It helps them to get a crystal picture of customers’ requirements and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
According to the company, the AI-AR Remote Hand can now utilise a variety of new techniques, such as cognitive object recognition (CORs), event-based dynamic probability calculations, and as a result, offloads the burden from the data centre whilst automatically delivering visibility to the data centre staff on real-time status of various processes.
