Continuous lifelong learning with NTUC LearningHub’s LXP
The company wins in this year’s SBR Technology Excellence Awards.
NTUC LearningHub cultivates a culture of lifelong learning as a leading Continuing Education and Training provider, and to advance its goals, the Learning eXperience Platform (LXP) was launched. The one-stop online learning mobile application enables every youth and working adult in Singapore to pursue lifelong learning opportunities on-the-go by bringing the classroom into their pocket.
The LXP acts as a comprehensive platform for individuals and enterprises, allowing them to access modular and bite-sized learning that they can go through at any pace, anytime and anywhere. NTUC LearningHub received the Digital - Training and Development Award at the 2023 SBR Technology Excellence Awards for their development of the LXP.
The awards programme recognises the breakthroughs and developments of companies in Singapore in their journey to bring the world’s best products and services using digital capabilities and innovations, and NTUC LearningHub distinguished itself with the convenient benefits of the LXP.
Asynchronous courses and webinars can be found on the LXP, as the platform enables workers and companies to upskill and reskill. Learners can choose from 135 categories of high-quality courses offered by world-class partners in areas such as technology skills, sustainability, adaptive skills, technical skills, and critical core skills, to mental health and fitness.
A few examples of courses that learners can take include Python Machine Learning, Data Science, Management Skills Training, Communication Skills, Food Safety to Yoga and Nutrition courses. All courses are kept short and easily digestible in order to preserve the platform’s goal of providing learning opportunities in bite-sized portions, tailoring their approach to meet the requirements of every learner.
Businesses can use the LXP Enterprise, an online learning management system that allows for customisation, assigning, and delivery of training for employees’ professional and personal development, allowing companies to upload in-house content and curate the learning experience for self-directed learning in employees.
Career Agility Hub (CAH) helps uncover the gaps between a learner’s current skill set and career goals and provides insights into the top skills learners can take to prepare for their future.
The feature was first launched through the SkillsFuture@NS Learning eXperience Platform as part of LHUB’s partnership with the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Home Affairs that aims to provide better support for full-time National Servicemen (NSFs) in preparation for their post-NS transition to pursue employment or further studies.
Looking towards the future, NTUC LHUB is looking to further enhance the integration of CAH and its AI into LXP, improving the platform’s value for learners as it will recommend career opportunities alongside courses.
The LXP has paved the way in redefining the learning experience, allowing users from different backgrounds and competency levels to upskill or diversify their skill sets for a more competitive edge in their future. The bite-sized and blended learning approach of LXP has helped companies and workers redesign their jobs and adapt amidst the rapid rise of digitalisation and technological advancements.
