London School of Business and Finance wins award for integrated admissions portal
It was given the top Education award in the recently concluded SBR International Business Awards.
Managing a world-class education institution, with students enrolling from different parts of the globe, may prove to be challenging in this modern digital age.
The London School of Business and Finance took this as a challenge and found a way to offer a solution that will be beneficial both to its admissions officers and the students.
It launched its fully-integrated application portal that takes all admissions processes online with real-time linkages, offering features such as the Student Management Software, Salesforce, and the Payment Gateway.
The portal performs various functions including offer letter generation on the portal, offer letter acceptance, student contracts, invoices, and payments. The portal also allows a student to submit applications to multiple courses at the same time.
In terms of easing the standard admissions process, the application portal increases efficiency, removes manual processes, and cuts down on the registration time for students. Likewise, it aids all backend teams involved including the registrar's office, sales team, finance, and quality assurance.
Whilst coming up with the portal, the institution identified key problems faced during admissions. From the sales and registrar’s office side, manual processes required a lot of time and effort which resulted in poor efficiency at work.
The manual processes involved application evaluation, generation of the offer letter, collection of student's acceptance of the offer letter, signing of the contract, follow-up on visa, generation of invoices, tracking payments and uploading student files consisting of all documents, certificates, contracts onto the student management software and updating of the salesforce CRM.
Meanwhile, on the student’s end, they had no visibility of their application status or progress. They had to sign multiple documents offline like the acceptance of the offer letter and the student contract. On top of this, it took a considerable amount of time between the time the application was submitted and when it was processed.
For this project, the London School of Business and Finance received the Education award in the recently concluded SBR International Business Awards.
This prestigious annual awards programme hosted by Singapore Business Review honours foreign companies in Singapore and recognises outstanding projects that successfully earned them a foothold in the Lion City.
In giving this award, the judging panel took into consideration several key functions that are now made possible through the program.
The portal can differentiate between an existing student and a new student, and local students, international students, and students through agents.
It can accommodate varying application fees and course fees per program, generate offer letters and contracts, and could even provide students with visa status, and invoices, and facilitate payment of fees through the student's dashboard.
Here, the student can track their application status on the dashboard and submit multiple applications at the same time. For instance, a student can apply for an MBA and a Mandarin for Business program together.
The portal also maximises its usability of the portal. Real-time data exchanges are made possible with the Salesforce CRM, Flywire Payment Gateway, emails, and student management software.
