ASSA ABLOY ASEAN locks in win at Malaysia International Business Awards
The Yale innovative smart lock mobile app lands a victory for the company in the Technology category.
Yale is one of the leading brands from ASSA ABLOY and has good reason to celebrate its 175th year anniversary worldwide after winning the award under the technology category at the recently ended Malaysia International Business Awards, presented by Singapore Business Review.
The inaugural awards programme honours the most outstanding projects and innovative best practices amongst international companies in Malaysia.
As the household brand for locks and security in Malaysia, Yale has the widest range of products and solutions for door hardware and security products, which include padlocks, cylindrical locks, lever locks and the most recent range—Smart Digital Door Locks.
With digital transformation driving ASSA ABLOY’s growth strategy in Asia, Yale pioneered Digital Door Locks in Malaysia back in 2008 to disrupt and ignite the evolution of the industry.
To stay ahead of the game in terms of innovation, ASSA ABLOY launched Yale Link in 2017, a mobile app that allows customers to manage their door locks via their mobile phone anytime, from anywhere around the world.
“Yale Link is developed with customers’ convenience in mind, converting a simple digital lock to a Smart Digital Lock with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. The Yale Link app connects the Yale Smart Digital Lock with the customers’ mobile phone, allowing them to operate the door lock and receive real-time notification, emergency alerts and activities log,” said Ken Wong, Marketing & Product Director.
Using the mobile app, homeowners can register new users and personalise the lock settings, create one-time pin for guests, review the event history and open the lock within proximity with a simple push on the phone.
ASSA ABLOY said that their strategy is not only about products and innovation.
“We focus on creating the most delightful experience a customer can have with full confidence while feeling safe and secure. We achieved a new dimension of connectivity between security and lifestyle with Yale Link. It provides peace of mind and convenience to our customers at a completely new level that no other door lock is able to offer. This has revolutionized the entire industry and customer’s perception on door locks,” said Wong.
Since the launch of Yale Link, the total volume for Yale Smart Digital Locks has increased by more than 50% annually. The company achieved strong position in key markets around the region, including Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and Hong Kong.
Ken Wong added that the possibilities to further enhance Yale Link are quite endless.
“ASSA ABLOY will be launching the next generation of Yale Link to enable connectivity between all Yale Smart products, including Yale Smart Door locks for main door and rooms, Yale Smart IP cameras and Yale Smart security safes,” he concluded.
