ESET recognised for COVID Management and Executive Leadership in the cybersecurity category
The cybersecurity firm leveraged its 30 years of industry experience to help businesses cope with the new normal.
ESET, a global leader in cybersecurity, has clinched the ‘COVID Management Initiative of the Year’ award while its President of Asia Pacific and Japan, Parvinder Walia, has won the ‘Executive of the Year’ accolade for the cybersecurity category in the Singapore Business Review (SBR) Management Excellence Awards 2020. In its sixth year, the SBR awards aim to honour and recognise outstanding business leaders, individuals and teams who have made exceptional contributions towards companies’ success.
“We are proud to be recognised for our commitment to developing the best in cybersecurity solutions and protecting the digital worlds of our customers, especially during these tumultuous times which has underscored the importance of cybersecurity,” said Parvinder Walia, President of Asia Pacific and Japan, ESET. “As companies transition to either a hybrid or remote working environment for the foreseeable future, ESET will continue to prioritise customer centricity and the innovation needed to meet the evolving needs of businesses and consumers. Both awards are also testament to ESET’s commitment to creating award-winning threat detection software to enable our users to enjoy the full potential of themselves and their technology in a secure digital world,” continued Walia.
To help businesses build cybersecurity resilience during these unprecedented times, ESET provided various free cybersecurity tools and resources to its customers and consumers. These included trial extension of ESET’s business products as well as complimentary home licences with limited duration for employees working from home. ESET has also curated a new offering with cloud capabilities with savings up to 50% to enable businesses of various sizes to remotely protect their endpoints from cyberthreats.
The awards recognise organisations from a wide range of industries in Singapore including financial, IT, F&B and more. The Executive of the Year award commends leaders whose ideas have driven their company’s growth, while the COVID Management Initiative of the Year acknowledges companies that have implemented effective strategies to navigate current headwinds due to the pandemic.
“Beyond business growth, we are a dynamic and diverse company, and strongly believe in nurturing internal talent. At ESET Asia Pacific, we are proud to champion gender diversity with a high ratio of women taking on leadership roles. We will continue to develop talent, and work closely with customers, partners and employees to ensure that we are continuously listening and adapting our approach to support them well,” added Walia.
