Great Eastern clinches Mobile Award for life insurance at first-ever TEA

Great Eastern's UPGREAT and GETGREAT apps combine health and wellness with rewards to drive a better community.

Combining health and wellness with rewards, Great Eastern introduced UPGREAT and GETGREAT, mobile apps with revolutionising industry-first features, to empower and reward customers and the community to live healthier and better.

In the recently concluded Technology Excellence Awards, Singapore Business Review awarded Great Eastern with the Mobile Award for the life insurance category.

Whilst fitness and wellness apps and rewards and loyalty platforms are not new concepts, there has not been an innovation that combines both, creating a dynamic duo of rewards and health and wellness.

This is where Great Eastern enters with GETGREAT and UPGREAT, two exciting mobile platforms that work to build a healthier and happier community. These applications combine the assistance provided by fitness and wellness platforms to keep people healthy with the daily to weekly rewards which users get via rewards and loyalty platforms.

With the launch of GETGREAT and UPGREAT, Great Eastern has become an industry leader in championing health and wellness, going beyond insurance to exciting everyday interactions and experiences.

With GETGREAT, members can join fitness quests and create social groups to motivate and support one another on their journey to wellness. Members can earn XP and STARS by completing activities and quests. These STARS can be used to redeem for UPGREAT Points which bring you a world of rewards.

Encouraging users to work towards their wellness goals is the GETGREAT fitness e-buddy - GERI, who provides health tips and suggests activities according to users’ fitness level and lifestyle.

The feedback towards GETGREAT’s launch in April 2018 has been extremely positive. Within four months from its launch, GETGREAT grew by 141 percent, and sign-ups have seen a dramatic increase of over 50 percent month-on-month.

More than 1.5 million interactions with GERI were also recorded, proving that the wellness coach is indeed an interactive and engaging tool for the users’ wellness journey. Meanwhile, over 1,000 social groups were formed by users, which points to strong evidence that people enjoy doing workouts and challenges with family and friends, as they can motivate each other along the way.

Great Eastern followed GETGREAT with the launch of UPGREAT, an all-in-one rewards and loyalty platform. Playing on the word “upgrade,” the app’s objective is to upgrade users’ daily lives through day-to-day rewards and offerings.

With UPGREAT, customers can digitally enjoy all their loyalty benefits and rewards anywhere anytime, as the traditional card and stamp loyalty is replaced by the application’s very own digital loyalty card. This shift allows members to enjoy collecting stamps without fussing about misplaced cards, bulky wallets and ecological consequences.

The single mobile platform also introduces a Play and Win game feature as an added incentive, allowing winners to take home several attractive prizes. Apart from these, members can also transfer rewards to family and friends, a feature that allows the app to stand out from the others in its region.

Feedback to UPGREAT’s launch was also highly positive. There were more than 5.5 million interactions in UPGREAT, and activity rate within the app achieved more than 50 percent, which was very promising. Play and Win had an average of people using the feature more than eight times a day.

With these applications, Great Eastern has added new dimensions in building and strengthening relationships with customers and introduced a new digital concept that can shape the way people view health, rewards engagement and insurance.

Great Eastern is one of the leading insurance companies in Asia, having served and helped over a million customers. The company is driven by client financial security and well-being and is characterised by its unwavering commitment to stand by its customers.
