IHH Healthcare Singapore scores a win with customized mobile apps for healthcare at Technology Excellence Awards
IHH SG was able to leverage its data to improve patient care and enhance customer experience.
IHH Healthcare Singapore (IHH SG) is staying ahead of the digitalisation curve and revolutionising healthcare delivery with two award winning, customer-centric mobile apps. Powered by a new single data intelligence platform, the two apps – DigiHealth app for patients and DigiCare app for specialist doctors – earned IHH Healthcare the Mobile Award for Healthcare at Singapore Business Review's recently concluded Technology Excellence Awards 2021.
By changing the way it views and uses data, and standardising and converging them onto a single digital platform, IHH SG was able to leverage its data to improve patient care and enhance customer experience.
“The DigiHealth mobile app allows patients to make better-informed healthcare decisions with ease because they are able to trend laboratory results, view radiology results and perform health profiling. Patients can now book appointments with Parkway Shenton GP clinics island wide or with more than 1,500 specialist doctors accredited with any of IHH’s four hospitals in Singapore (Gleneagles, Mount Elizabeth, Mount Elizabeth Novena and Parkway East hospitals). The app is also integrated with MyINFO and can be used to conveniently complete e-registrations before admission at our hospitals," said Roland Liew, Head of Digital Transformation at IHH SG.
The DigiCare mobile app is a one-stop platform for doctors to access information on their patients’ conditions, such as reviewing radiology images and evaluating laboratory results, all whilst on the go. The app also allows them to e-admit patients and file their professional fees online anytime, anywhere. These functionalities help specialist doctors build their practice and enhance their service by enabling prompt and better care for their patients.
"This journey nudged the group out of our comfort zone and to do things differently—from offering traditional brick and mortar business services to exploring green fields like telehealth, and from outsourcing IT projects to building in-house IT capabilities”, said Roland. "The deeper we delve, the more we realise we are only just scratching the surface. The possibilities are indeed limitless when we overlay the data platform with artificial intelligence and build partnerships with adjacent-industry companies such as insurers to unlock its immense potential."
The Technology Excellence Awards, presented by Singapore Business Review, was held via studio award presentations and video conferencing sessions throughout the second and third week of April.
This year’s nominations were judged by a panel consisting of Daryl Pereira, Head of Cyber at KPMG; Cheang Wai Keat, Partner, Consulting at Ernst & Young Advisory Pte.
