Kaspersky Lab Singapore Pte Ltd secures Cybersecurity Award for IT services in first-ever TEA
The company bagged the Cybersecurity Award for IT services, thanks to their work with Threat Intelligence.
Battling modern cyber threats requires a 360-degree view of strategies and tools used by threat actors. As enterprises continue to fall prey to advanced and targeted attacks, traditional passive measures have become insufficient, forcing businesses to shift their attention to new methods of protection based on Threat Intelligence.
Building a threat intelligence workflow, Kaspersky Lab’s Threat Intelligence Portal is centred on threats that specifically target financial institutions as well as tools developed or sold by cybercriminals to attack banks, payment processing centres, ATMs and POS systems.
Backed by its commitment to provide pertinent insight on the most notorious threats, Kaspersky Threat Intelligence Services allows users to detect threats early, conduct quick and efficient investigations and build comprehensive security strategies to mitigate the risk that cyberattacks pose to a business or organisation.
With threat research and cybersecurity as the primary focus of their research for over two decades, it is no surprise that Kaspersky Lab remains a leader in cybersecurity.
During the recently concluded Technology Excellence Awards by Singapore Business Review, the company bagged the Cybersecurity Award for IT services, thanks to their work with Threat Intelligence.
With petabytes of rich threat data to mine and a unique pool of world experts to draw upon, Kaspersky Lab works to help organisations across the globe to maintain immunity against even previously unseen cyberattacks.
Kaspersky Lab’s multi-layered, avant-garde protection is ahead of its time, extensively using machine learning methods on all stages of the detection pipeline, from scalable clustering methods for preprocessing incoming file streams in infrastructure to robust and compact deep neural network models for behavioral detection that will work directly on users’ machines.
Kaspersky Lab does not only offer strong protection against cyberthreats, its reports are also tailored, with experts piecing together a clear, understandable portrait of an enterprise’s current attack status.
This picture identifies weak spots that are ripe for exploitation as well as evidence of past, present and planned attacks.
Utilising the categorisation and validation of identified matches to aid in prioritising tasks, Kaspersky CyberTrace provides analysts a set of instruments for conducting alert triage and response, whilst accelerating forensic and threat hunting activities by offering on-demand lookup of indicators or logs and file scanning, which enables advanced in-depth threat investigation.
When in use, Kaspersky Threat Intelligence’s Threat Data Feeds instantly detects threats and prioritises them, whilst providing a rich and actionable context that can guide further investigation.
By automatically matching the logs against a company’s threat intelligence feeds, Kaspersky CyberTrace grants real-time situational awareness. It also offers an unconventional, out-of-the-box integration with a user’s security controls.
“Being aware of the most relevant zero-days, emerging threats and advanced attack vectors is key to an effective cybersecurity strategy, which helps you stay ahead of your competitors when executed strategically,” Stephan Neumeier, Managing Director of Asia Pacific at Kaspersky Lab, explained in a statement.
“Manually collecting, analysing and sharing threat data however doesn’t provide the level of responsiveness required by an enterprise. There’s a need for a centralised point for accessible data sources and task automation. Kaspersky CyberTrace helps organisations better understand their risks, increase the productivity of their security teams and ensure a more robust protection against cyberthreats,” he added.
Subscribers to the award-winning company’s Threat Intelligence Portal gain access to both immediate and historic threat intelligence, helping the enterprise, the security information and event management (SIEM) analyst as well as the Security Operations Center to fight cyberattacks as they arise. Apart from this, it also boosts incident response and secures an organisation, before these threats can harm it, by successfully identifying and completely eradicating the threat early enough to prevent catastrophic damage.
Kaspersky Threat Lookup also shows the detected URLs that are related to the specific threat actor.
Every detected threat can then be investigated in the Threat Lookup. Historical data can aid in interlinking the information on various files, such as IPs, URLs, domains, hashes and threat names. This then reveals detailed intelligence data, including whois, pDNS, GeoIP, file attributes, statistical and behavioural data, download chains, and timestamps, among others.
Subscribers to Kaspersky Lab’s Threat Intelligence Portal enjoy a single point of entry to four complementary services: Kaspersky Threat Data Feeds, APT Intelligence Reporting, Financial Threat Intelligence Reporting and Kaspersky Threat Lookup, which are available both in human and machine-readable formats.
As a trailblazer in cybersecurity, Kaspersky Lab is committed to providing users with more unique insights into the most notorious threats. Although its Threat Intelligence is already reliable and reputable, the team promises to further develop its offerings for clients.
