Also known as MyGovernment Portal, this single gateway portal delivers information and online services based on life events. Targeted for Malaysian citizens and non-citizens, it covers all the target beneficiary groups including the indigenous and nomadic people, older persons, people with disabilities, remote and rural communities, the poor, unemployed, the women, and youth.
The need to eliminate face-to-face interaction and provide online services are important, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the government implementing lock-down and social distancing to flatten the curves, MyGovernment Portal provides online access to an integrated, inclusive and secured information and services across government agencies even at home. Its ultimate goal is to have an end-to-end online service that will eliminate face-to-face interaction.
Significant services have just been launched and can be accessed thru MyGoverment Portal include:
• Clinic Appointment Booking System under Ministry of Health
• Dental Clinic Appointment Booking System under Ministry of Health
• KEMAS Pre-School Application System under Jabatan Kemajuan Masyarakat
• JAIS Standard 1 and Pre-School Application System under Selangor Islamic Religion Department
MyGovernment Portal is focusing on unconventional yet inclusive and secured service across agencies. The design or layout of this portal has been made to facilitate citizen interaction with the Government–particularly in accessing government services gathered from more than 80 government agencies. To make it easy and convenient for citizens to access the information, this portal innovatively presented the content and linkages (of the services) based on Life Events concept. Through a few sessions of workshops with government agencies, this approach has matured, with nine Life Events groups exiting today: Managing Family Institution, Getting Formal Education, Obtaining Facilities, Welfare and Health Care and etc.
The personal dashboard is one of the attractive features in MyGovernment Portal. With this feature, citizens will be able to directly access their personal information such as passport and driving license information, summons status (JPJ & PDRM) and all the online statuses of their applications made through MyGovernment Portal.
With a number of Government online services integrated with MyGovernment Portal, it has been selected as a user case in a pilot study for National Digital Identification (ID) initiative. This opportunity is seen to have a significant impact on secured and trusted transactions of government online services.
