TraceSafe Asia Pacific Pte Ltd wins IoT Award for IT services at SBR TEA 2021

The company's SafeSite system maximises digitisation in providing COVID-19 safety measures for construction workers.

TraceSafe's SafeSite technology solution won the loT Award for IT Services during Singapore Business Review's recently concluded Technology Excellence Awards.

SafeSite is a smart, safe and integrated worksite management system created by TraceSafe. Current best practice safety measures, such as mask-wearing, temperature measurement and social distancing are imperative during the pandemic. However, lack of consistency can prevent these practices from being enforced consistently by workers, resulting in health and workplace risks.

SafeSite solves this problem through smart sensing. Designed to leverage digitisation by providing seamless and easy integration to existing systems like resource, attendance, safety and project management, it automates health and safety protocols to maintain consistency in practice. For instance, its SirenTag is attached to every individual to allow employees to maintain the necessary social distancing protocols and safety measures at work. It can provide the flexibility to change-of-work processes as needed, and comply with the Safety Management Measures (SMM), CDC guidelines and government regulations.

At any worksite, TraceSafe's IR scanner will take each person's temperature, detect if the mask is on, and make sure that workers are fitted with the proper PPE attire. Biometric authentication is also conducted to ensure workers can move within the authorised work zone and their contact tracing will be captured. Any violations will result in the system triggering a physical alert (with vibration and flashing LED lights) so the worker can take immediate safety measures.

Meanwhile, TraceSafe's data analytic capabilities allow various reports to be generated in real-time whenever required. A multi-level contact tracing report which includes site, zone, and length of interactions between workers is made available on the cloud portal for management monitoring. All non-compliance behaviour is automatically tracked and reported so necessary actions can be taken.

This data-driven approach enables companies to minimise any safety measure lapses and yet improve efficiency at the worksite. Furthermore, the project manager can allocate resources based on the workforce's readiness and health status for planning. This has a huge financial upside for construction companies, since worksite penalties and shutdowns are imposed by authorities when there is a lack of effective contact tracing and preventive measures implemented on-site.

Aside from its unique contact tracing capability and building block architecture, SafeSite solutions also include the application layer to include work zone compliance, restricted zone through geofencing and proximity alerts when too close to heavy machinery management, and more.

TraceSafe aspires to continue to co-develop solutions with industry players to provide greater peace of mind for true holistic worksite safety. Aside from being recognised in SBR Technology Excellence Awards, the company was recognised by Singapore DPM and Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat while presenting Singapore's national budget for the financial year for 2021.

The Technology Excellence Awards, presented by Singapore Business Review, was held via studio award presentations and video conferencing sessions throughout the second and third week of April.
