Taiwan's export orders surprisingly jumped 0.5% in July

According to BBVA Research, Taiwan export orders surprised to the upside in July, increasing by 0.5% y/y (consensus: -1.0%) after a contraction in the previous month of -3.5% y/y. The positive outturn ends 5 consecutive months of decline, signaling that external demand may be starting to improve.
