
That’s unfair!: 1 out of 2 Singaporeans unhappy with CPF
But the richer ones couldn’t care less.
A recent survey by Blackbox research reveals that more than half of Singaporean citizens believe that the CPF system does not give them a fair return.
Among those surveyed, more HDB residents and lower-income earners expressed discontent with the CPF than those living in private housing who are also likely to earn more.
The current CPF debates affected government satisfaction, pulling the rate down by 7% from 72% in May to 65% in June.
This drop could have also been affected by the viral article of blogger Roy Ngerng, who said that there has been misappropriation of the Central Provident Fund. Of those surveyed, 52% were aware of the article.
