Over half a million Singaporeans ditched travel credit cards: survey
More planning to get rid of theirs if restrictions remain in place in 2021.
A third of Singaporeans have gotten rid of their travel credit cards during the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, according to a survey by Finder.com.
They estimate about 33% or over half a million Singaporean adults have ditched their travel credit cards as travel halted over the region.
Another 435,000 surveyed said they plan to get rid of their travel credit cards if restrictions remain in place in 2021.
The survey found that young Singaporeans were most likely to have ditched their cards, with 43% of those aged 25-34 making the switch, along with 39% of 18 to 24-year-olds.
Of those getting rid of their travel card, men were more likely to ditch it than women, with close to two-fifths (38%) of men having made the switch to another card compared to over a quarter of women (26%).
