Singapore to ease firms' access to Asia, Africa
It will place companies in a network with World Bank-affiliated officials that cover emerging markets.
International Enterprise Singapore (IE Singapore) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with World Bank member International Finance Corporation (IFC) to help local firms get more access to emerging markets in Africa, Southeast Asia, and South Asia.
According to a press release, the two will co-host market-focused workshops for Singapore companies and provide business and financing opportunities.
Singapore firms will be able to tap into IFC officials that cover the emerging markets, whilst IFC will be able to host pre-bid meetings for Asian infrastructure projects.
IE Singapore said the MOU will reinforce its efforts to develop Singapore as an infrastructure hub. It will also host activities on project development, structuring, and financing.
