2013 seen to end flat.

According to OCBC Investment Research, what investors in Singapore can do is to play the waiting game – 1) wait for the US to arrive at a bipartisan approach, supporting the nation’s recovery and finally resulting in a rise in interest rates, 2) wait for Abenomics to work through the Japanese economy, 3) and wait for leaders in the EU to execute more long-lasting solutions.

All these while Singapore implements its own economic restructuring policies.

While the Singapore stock market is likely to end 2013 flat, the economic outlook for 2014 could mean Asian and Singapore equities are worth a re-look.

We expect developed markets’ issues which dominated global headlines in the last two years to remain, largely centering on slowing economic growth, debt and high unemployment.
