ACRA, MAS, SGX RegCo outlines new guidelines for general meetings

Entities can hold general meetings via online until June 2021.

The Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA), the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), and Singapore Exchange Regulation (SGX RegCo) have updated the checklist guiding listed and non-listed entities on conducting general meetings on 1 October.

First issued on 13 April, the checklist was last updated on 27 April and 22 June.

The changes to the checklist were based on the latest updates from the Multi-Ministry Taskforce in moderating safe management measures for business operations.

The Ministry of Health has issued an advisory on 23 September saying that work-related events held within workplace premises will be allowed to resume for up to 50 attendees and with strict adherence to health protocols.

Meanwhile, temporary legislative relief has been extended, so companies can still hold general meetings via online until 30 June 2021.
