
Ballot papers and documents en route for destruction on 2 March
Candidates or their representatives are invited to witness the destruction process.
The Elections Department stated as per the Presidential Elections Act 1991, election-related documents are securely sealed and retained for six months before destruction, unless otherwise directed by the President, ensuring vote secrecy.

On 2 March, sealed boxes from the 1 September 2023 Presidential Election will be transported from the Supreme Court to Tuas South Incineration Plant for destruction.
The Elections Department will invite candidates or their representatives to observe the process.
