Chart of the Day: Check out Singapore's PMI progress versus Asian peers

Good news is that it's still above 50.

According to CIMB, PMI readings from the various parts of the world are still being released. So far, it suggests a weaker picture for global manufacturing.

CIMB also said that in Asia, while PMIs for Japan and South Korea rose last month, the readings for China, Taiwan and Singapore eased. Japan’s PMI rose 0.7 pt to 51.1, matching its previous high in Mar 12, while South Korea added another 0.6 pt to a 3-year high of 52.6.

"However, the PMI for China, Taiwan and Singapore fell 0.3 pt, 0.5 pt and 0.3 pt, respectively. Although lower, the overall PMI readings for China (50.6), Taiwan
(50.7) and Singapore (50.3) are still just above 50, indicating modest expansion," CIMB said.
