ESR merger will boost ARA LOGOS to become ninth-biggest S-REIT
ARA LOGOS is currently on the 13th spot.
ESR-REIT and ARA LOGOS Logistics Trust jointly announced their proposed merger on 15 October. It will be named ESR-LOGOS REIT.
The merger will create the ninth-largest real estate investment trust (REIT) by free float in Singapore with total assets under management (AUM) of S$5.4b. The move comes after ESR Cayman purchased ARA Asset Management. The two companies will become the biggest real estate manager in the Asia Pacific with $131b AUM when the merger takes effect in the first quarter of 2022.
ESR-LOGOS plans to further increase its exposure to the new economy by tapping on its sponsor large pipeline and disposal of non-core, underperforming, and short land-lease assets.
