Find out how Singapore housing caps the rise in inflation

It moderated following the disbursements of S&CC rebates.

According to Maybank Kim Eng, capping the rise in inflation was the “Housing” component which moderated following the disbursements of Service & Conservancy Charges (S&CC) rebates for HDB households in July 2013 whereby 1-room and 2-room HDB households received a 1-month rebate while 3-room, 4-room, 5-room and Executive/Multi-generation HDB households received a 0.5-month rebate.

This is compounded by the softer rental market which saw cost of Accommodation moderating to +2.6% YoY in July 2013 from +4.8% YoY a month earlier.
