Four parties back environmental sustainability improvement tool for businesses

They signed an MoU with the developers of Green Compass.

Enterprise Singapore, the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF), Singapore Precision Engineering and Technology Association (SPETA), and Singapore Polytechnic (SP) partnered with the developers of the tool that helps businesses improve environmental sustainability.

In a joint statement, the four companies said they have signed a memorandum of understanding with the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), JTC Corporation (JTC) and TÜV SÜD, the developers of the assessment and road mapping tool Green Compass.

Green Compass helps businesses manage their carbon emissions, energy, water, and waste impact, and chart roadmaps for environmental sustainability.

Under the memo, Enterprise Singapore, SMF, SPETA, and SP will promote the tool to their network of local businesses.

Enterprise Singapore will also support the development and the implementation of sustainability-related standards to guide companies in their sustainability efforts, whilst SMF will help the local manufacturing community create their own “environmental sustainability narrative.”

A*STAR, TÜV SÜD and SP will share knowledge on environmental sustainability and Green Compass through training courses, as well as develop the tool.

JTC will support further development of the Green Compass and promote it to its network of industrial tenants and collaborate with them on environmental sustainability whilst ensuring the competitiveness of businesses.
