Here's proof that Singapore's poor economic performance will end soon
Trade, industrial production bode well.
According to Deutsche Bank Market Research, they think that Singapore’s long-string of poor economic data is about to turn a corner soon. Beginning with production, the research firm sees a fairly decent link between US purchasing manager’s sentiment and Singapore’s industrial production, a large part of which is export-oriented.
"We think the economy is likely to pick up along with global demand shortly. Trade and industrial production have likely bottomed through the first quarter of this year," Deutsche Bank said.
It added that inflation remains high and the housing market continues to rise despite cooling measures. The risk of further tightening measures is therefore non-trivial.
