How are Singaporeans feeling ahead of Budget 2024 announcements?
7 out of 10 are satisfied with how things are going in Singapore at the moment.
Everyday economic issues such as cost pressures are still preoccupying most Singaporeans' concerns ahead of Budget 2024 announcements, but most are optimistic about where the country is headed, according to the SensingSG insights report by Blackbox.
Singaporeans who said that they are satisfied with how things are going in Singapore dipped by 4% however it remains high at 74%. 73% view the current national economic conditions to be positive.
77% are saying they believe Singapore is heading in the right direction, a dip of 2% from last year. However, most remain cautious with only 34% expecting the national economy to get better in the next year.
Economic issues also preoccupy many Singaporeans' minds, with the cost of living the number one worry. This is followed by Salaries and wages, Housing affordability, Jobs and unemployment, and GST.
Despite that, 64% believe their financial situation is quite good or better, with 42% expecting their financial situation to improve in the next 12 months.
Meanwhile, the government earned a Good Governance Meter of 63%.
