MOF appoints new head of accounting and corporate regulatory authority board
Ong Chong Tee will assume his post on 1 July 2022.
Ong Chong Tee was appointed as chairman of the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (Acra) Board, which will take effect on 1 July 2022, the Ministry of Finance said.
He will replace Tan Ching Yee, who served as head of the board since 1 April 2018.
Ong, who was former deputy chairman of Acra, will continue to ensure a trusted business environment. Acra will also soon strengthen its effectiveness as a corporate registry and regulator, and as a developer of the accountancy sector when it is merged with the Singapore Accountancy Commission.

Prior to his appointment at Acra, Ong worked at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) from 1986 to 2021 where he held senior positions in reserve management, central banking monetary operations and market development.
He was previously MAS’ deputy managing director of Financial Supervision, managing the “financial sectors of banking, insurance, capital markets, payment services as well as technology and money laundering risks from 2014 to 2021.”
