MTI to release Q3 GDP estimates on October 14

The monetary policy decision will be issued as well.

Analysts forecasting a slower growth for the city-state will either be proven right or wrong as the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) announces Q3 GDP estimates next Friday.

According to MTI, it will release the estimates on October 14, around 8 a.m., the same time the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) will announce its policy decision.

To recall, Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam said the city-state's economy is in for a tough period, with concerns over Brexit and weakening global demand weighing down economic growth forecast to 1-2%.

Meanwhile, a central bank survey revealed that economists and experts expect Singapore's trade-dependent economy to grow 1.8% this year.
