New platform to boost Japan-Singapore startup collaboration
The countries will also launch a pitch event for startups and SMEs.
Singapore and Japan discussed ways to boost bilateral economic ties and improve business environments under the AsiaJapan Investing for the Future (AJIF) initiative.
During the Japan-Singapore Economic Dialogue (JSED) in Tokyo, Singapore and Japan announced the establishment of the Japan-Singapore Co-Creation Platform to support collaboration between startups, driving economic growth.
They also announced a second Japan-Singapore Fast Track Pitch Event and increased cooperation for startups and SMEs between Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation, Japan (SMRJ) and Singapore business associations.
The two countries will also collaborate to enhance the digital economy and data governance through AI.
In addition, both parties will conduct workshops to explore semiconductor R&D collaboration and consider joint training programmes. They will also support practical collaborations between A*STAR’s IME and Rapidus on advanced microelectronics packaging technologies.
To address decarbonisation, Singapore and Japan will explore collaboration under the Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) and further their discussions in the "JapanSingapore Dialogue on Energy Transition."
