Opportunities emerge for SMEs in Johor-Singapore SEZ: Maybank
The SEZ is expedcted to boost exchange of trade, labour and investments.
Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) stand to benefit from the opportunities arising from the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (SEZ), according to Maybank.
Speaking at the Maybank Johor-Singapore Access conference recently, Maybank country CEO for Singapore, Alvin Lee, noted how the bank will play a significant role in the growth of the Malaysia-Singapore corridor.
Lee said they aim to continue facilitating cross-border business services, solutions, and digital networks to support clients’ business needs.
Maybank had previously identified six key catalysts supporting a successful implementation of Johor-Singapore SEZ, including strong backing from the Malaysian King and both governments.
“This will further enhance the economic ecosystems of both countries, foster positive synergies across various sectors, and strengthen economic connectivity and cooperation,” said Lee.
