Second Minister Tan co-chairs inaugural KSA-SG ministerial meeting
The meeting reaffirmed the growing ties between Singapore and Saudi Arabia.
The second minister for trade and industry, Tan See Leng, co-chaired the inaugural Saudi Arabia-Singapore Joint Committee (SSJC) Ministerial Meeting with Saudi Arabia's minister of transport and logistic services Saleh bin Nasser Al Jasser on 7 December.
During the meeting, the ministers highlighted the vast potential for strengthening cooperation and discussed various initiatives in the areas of transport, infrastructure and logistics, energy and industry, and the digital economy. Both Ministers witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cooperation and Mutual Assistance in Customs Enforcement between the Saudi Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority and Singapore Customs.
The SSJC was first raised by King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud during President Halimah Yacob's state visit to Saudi Arabia in November 2019 with the aim of fostering closer relations between the two countries.
