Singapore’s total trade shrank 6.8% in March

Total trade reached $79.2b.

The republic’s total trade contracted by 6.8% year-on-year in March, following an 18.2% decline in the preceding month.

A report released today by IE Singapore showed that total imports declined by 14.7% in March, following the 20.5% decrease in February.

Meanwhile, total exports grew by 0.7% in March 2015, compared to the 16.1% contraction in the previous month. 

On a month-on-month seasonally adjusted basis, total trade expanded by 11.4% in March in contrast to the 6.7% decrease in the previous month.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, the level of total trade reached $79.2 billion in March.
