Singapore and France collaborate on yearlong sustainability effort
The countries will cooperate on sustainable development and green transition.
Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and French President Macron launched the France-Singapore Joint Year of Sustainability to enhance cooperation in sustainable development and green transition.
The JYOS will roll out sustainability-focused events and initiatives from April 2024 to 2025.
Both sides also agreed to work towards upgrading the bilateral relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) ahead of the 60th anniversary of relations in 2025.
The partners will also explore establishing a framework for emerging sectors, including the digital economy, and initiatives like the ASEAN Power Grid.
