
Singapore NODX dropped by 4.9% in 2Q13
After last quarter's 12.5% shrinkage.
According to a release, on a y-o-y basis, NODX declined by 4.9 per cent in 2Q 2013, following the previous quarter’s 12.5 per cent contraction, on lower shipments of both electronic and non-electronic NODX.
Electronic domestic exports decreased by 11.5 per cent in 2Q 2013, after the previous quarter’s 17.2 per cent contraction. Non-electronic NODX declined by 1.4 per cent in 2Q 2013, following the 10.1 per cent decrease in the previous quarter.
On a q-o-q SA basis, NODX expanded by 5.8 per cent in 2Q 2013, after posting a decrease of 3.3 per cent in the preceding quarter.
While NODX to China, Thailand and Hong Kong rose y-o-y, NODX to all the rest of the top markets declined in 2Q 2013. The biggest contributors to the y-o-y NODX decrease in the quarter were the EU 27, South Korea and Malaysia.
Specifically, NODX to the EU 27 contracted by 18.6 per cent in 2Q 2013, following the previous quarter’s decline of 30.1 per cent. NODX to South Korea also decreased by 31.3 per cent in 2Q 2013, after the previous quarter’s contraction of 16.2 per cent. NODX to Malaysia declined by 17.1 per cent, following the 14.4 per cent decrease in the previous quarter.
