
Singapore NODX jumped 9.1% in February
Here's what boosted this growth.
According to the International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, on a y-o-y basis, NODX rose by 9.1 per cent in February 2014, in contrast to the 3.3 percent decline in the previous month. On a 3-month moving average (3MMA) y-o-y basis, NODX increased by 3.6 per cent in February 2014, following the 2.2 per cent contraction in the previous month.
On a month-on-month seasonally adjusted (m-o-m SA) basis, NODX expanded by 7.2 per cent in February 2014, compared to the previous month’s 5.0 per cent contraction, due to an increase in both electronic and non-electronic NODX.
On a SA basis, the level of NODX achieved S$14.5 billion in February 2014, higher than the S$13.6 billion registered in the preceding month.
On a y-o-y basis, total trade rose by 9.0 per cent in February 2014, following the 1.7 per cent increase in the previous month. Total exports grew by 11.3 per cent in February 2014, after the 4.2 per cent expansion in the previous month.
Total imports increased by 6.7 per cent in February 2014, in contrast to the 0.9 per cent decline in the preceding month.
On a m-o-m SA basis, total trade grew by 4.8 per cent in February 2014, after the 1.6 per cent expansion in the preceding month. On a SA basis, the level of total trade reached S$85.5 billion in February 2014, higher than the previous month’s achievement of S$81.5 billion.
Total exports expanded by 5.9 per cent in February 2014, following the 0.4 per cent rise in the previous month. Total imports increased by 3.7 per cent in February 2014, after the 2.9 per cent growth in the preceding month
