
Singapore's NODX dips 5.4% in 3Q16
No thanks to China, Indonesia, and the US.
According to IE Singapore, on a y-o-y basis, NODX contracted by 5.4% in 3Q 2016, following the previous quarter’s 0.2% decline, attributed to the decrease in both electronic and non-electronic NODX.
On a q-o-q SA basis, NODX decreased by 6.4% in 3Q 2016, in contrast to the 9.4% increase in 2Q 2016, on lower shipments of both electronic and non-electronic NODX.

Electronic domestic exports decreased by 1.5% on a q-o-q SA basis in 3Q 2016, after the previous quarter’s 1.2% decline. Non-electronic NODX contracted by 8.3% in 3Q 2016, in contrast to the 14.3% growth in the previous quarter.
NODX to all of the top NODX markets, except Hong Kong and South Korea, declined in 3Q 2016. The biggest contributors to the y-o-y NODX decrease in the quarter were China, Indonesia and the US.
Specifically, NODX to China declined by 8.2% in 3Q 2016, following the previous quarter’s decrease of 9.1%. NODX to Indonesia decreased by 15.9% in 3Q 2016, after the previous quarter’s contraction of 16.3%. NODX to the US decreased by 7.7%, in contrast to the 2.4% rise in the previous quarter.
