Struggling micro-enterprises unable to make most of government assistance schemes

Only 62.8% of firms had access to government assistance.

The smallest businesses are lagging behind their peers when it comes to applying for government assistance, according to a survey by the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCCI).

Only 62.8% of micro-enterprises have applied for government scheme in 2015, compared to 79.3% for small enterprises.

Meanwhile, some 85.5% and 73.1% of medium and large enterprises, respectively, have applied for schemes.

The report noted that some micro-enterprises might not meet eligibility criteria to apply for government schemes.
