
Surprisingly, Singapore is just 7th most innovative country globally
United States got the top spot.
According to Bloomberg's 50 Most Innovative Countries list, Singapore ranked 7th in the index. It further said that when it comes to R&D intensity, Singapore comes in at 11th spot and 20th with regards to productivity.
United States was ranked first, followed by South Korea, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Japan, Singapore, Austria, Denmark, and France. Hong Kong came in a t 36th spot. South Africa was tagged as the least innovative.

Bloomberg Rankings recently examined more than 200 countries and sovereign regions to determine their innovation quotient. The final universe was narrowed down to 96. What follows is the top 50.
Innovation was measured by seven factors, including R&D intensity, productivity, high-tech density, researcher concentration, manufacturing capability, education levels and patent activity.
