What are the 4 key focus areas of 'The Partnership' between SG, US?
This aims to expand the two countries' collaboration on trade and investment.
The governments of Singapore and the US signed a memorandum of understanding implementing the US-Singapore Partnership for Growth and Innovation—or simply called “The Partnership”—on 8 October.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry said "The Partnership" is an expansion and elevation of the two countries' Infrastructure Collaboration Platform Memorandum of Understanding launched in 2016 and renewed in 2018.
To further strengthen collaboration between the two countries, Singapore and the US will engage in commercial partnerships and policy exchanges on four key areas: digital economy, energy and environmental technologies, advanced manufacturing, and healthcare.
Both countries will also be working closely for a “stronger post-COVID-19 recovery,” Trade Minister Gan Kim Yong said.
US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo echoed Yong, saying The Partnshipe will “support economic recovery” for both countries.
