This is what Singaporeans really think of Budget 2016
3 out 5 think it won’t make much difference.
Majority of Singaporeans believe that the 2016 Budget is fair, but 60% are doubtful that the fiscal measures will make much difference to themselves or their families in the next 12 months.
These are the results of a YouGov survey which polled almost a thousand Singaporeans immediately after the budget statement.
The poll also showed that over 60% of Singaporeans think that the economy is either getting worse, or has stopped getting worse but is showing no signs of recovery yet.
In terms of specific measures, 70% of respondents think that the government should place more emphasis on the cost of living in the next year.
This outpaces all other area listed out, with around half of the respondents vote for employment (49%), 43% vote for healthcare, 35% vote for aging population, and 34% vote for economic stability.
