KrisEnergy kicks off Sakti well exploration
Drilling will last about 20 days.
KrisEnergy’s jack-up rig KS Java Star began drilling of the Mustika-1 exploration well in the company-operated contract Sakti-production sharing contract (PSC), according to a press release by the company. Drilling is expected to take around 20 days.
Mustika-1 is aiming for the Kujung I formation, and is intended to reach a total measured depth of 945 metres.
As the operator, KrisEnergy was granted a 95% working interest in the Sakti PSC February last year. The remaining 5% working interest is held by Golden Heaven Jaya.
Adjacent to the Sakti PSC is KrisEnergy’s Bulu PSC, which contains the Lengo gas discovery. According to Exploration and Production Director Chris Gibson-Robinson, the company would consider producing Sakti gas through Lengo facilities if the current prospect is successful.
