REA Group to construct 20MW solar farm in China
Expected completion is by Q3 2013.
Renewable Energy Asia Group has obtained approval from the Gansu Development and Reform Commission for the construction of a 20-megawatt grid-connected solar farm in Dongdongtan, Jiuquan Municipal, Gansu Province, China.
The Group estimates the total cost of investment for the solar farm to be approximately RMB226 million, which will be financed via internal resources and borrowings.
The Dongdongtan project is part of an agreement with the Jiuquan municipal government to develop renewable energy resources there.
REA Group plans to commence construction of the new solar farm by May 2013. Once completed, the solar farm is expected to contribute approximately 31.2 million kilowatt-hour of electricity to the national grid annually.
