Electricity tariffs to creep upwards by 0.3%

And will last until June.

According to a statement by Singapore Power, for the period from 1 Apr to 30 Jun 2014, electricity tariffs will increase by an average of 0.3% or 0.07 cent per kWh. The increase is due to a 1.3% rise in fuel costs, which was partially mitigated by a reduction in non-fuel costs.

For households, the electricity tariff will increase from 25.65 to 25.73 cents per kWh for 1 Apr to 30 Jun 2014. The average monthly electricity bill for families living in four-room HDB flats will increase by $0.26.

SP Services reviews the electricity tariffs quarterly based on guidelines set by the Energy Market Authority (EMA), the electricity industry regulator.
