HDB launches largest solar leasing tender under SolarNova programme
More than 1,000 HFB buildings will have solar panels installed.
The Housing & Development Board (HDB) has launched the eighth solar leasing tender under the SolarNova programme which will see more than 1,000 HDB blocks and a hundred government buildings installed with solar panels.
1,075 HDB blocks and 104 government sites were installed with solar panels.
This is the largest solar leasing tender to date under the programme.

The solar panels has a capacity of 113 megawatt-peak (MWp) and will be installed in 1,075 HDB blocks covered by Aljunied-Hougang, Nee Soon and Sengkang Town Councils, as well as 104 government sites which will include 55 schools, 22 Ministry of Defence sites, and 14 heartland malls.
Jointly led by HDB and the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), the SolarNova programme aggregates public sector demand for the installation of solar panels across HDB blocks and government sites, thus helping to accelerate the deployment of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in Singapore and drive the growth of Singapore’s solar industry.
The eighth SolarNova tender involves the participation of 10 agencies, namely the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Home Affairs, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, Singapore Customs, HDB, National Environment Agency, and People’s Association.
