Keppel, Greenko founders ink MOU on biogenic carbon-based sustainable fuels production
The partners aim to aggregate at least 1 million tonnes of biogenic carbon dioxide.
Keppel Corporation Limited’s (Keppel) Infrastructure Division has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with AM Green to jointly explore the production of biogenic carbon-based sustainable fuels, such as bio and green methanol, second-generation (2G) ethanol and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
Under the MOU signed in Dubai during COP 28, the partners will identify, evaluate and co-develop projects in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, which can harness and aggregate at least one million tonnes of biogenic carbon dioxide (CO2) per year to be used for the production of sustainable fuels in AM Green’s plants.
AM Green is wholly owned and controlled by the founders of Hyderabad-based Greenko Group.
The MOU also provides that Keppel and Greenko identify areas for collaboration in the value chain of a bio-methanol project in India.
The project aims to produce 500,000 tonnes of bio-methanol annually.
