Keppel O&M acquires $3.9b FPSO vessel contract from Brazil oil firm

The vessel is targeted to be completed in over four years.

Keppel Shipyard, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine (O&M), won the contract for the procurement and construction of a $3.9b (US$2.9b) vessel from Petroleo Brasileiro (Petrobras), a Brazilian national oil company.

This P-80, a floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO), is seen to be completed in the first half of 2026.

It is also the second FPSO vessel that Keppel O&M will construct for Petrobras. Its first is the P-78, which is currently under construction.

P-80 will be included in the largest floating production units globally, with a production capacity of “225,000 barrels of oil per day, water injection capacity of 250,000 barrels per day, 12 million cubic metres of (Sm 3 /d) of gas processing per day and a storage capacity of two million barrels of oil.”
