Pavilion Energy deploys 1st ship-to-ship LNG bunkering to Rio Tinto
It delivered 1,970 metric tonnes of LNG to a Rio Tinto-charted bulk carrier.
Pavilion Energy launches its first ship-to-ship liquified natural gas (LNG) bunkering operation to global mining firm Rio Tinto, following the delivery of the Singapore-built vessel Brassavola.
In a statement, Pavilion Energy said the vessel is capable of delivering 1,970 metric tonnes of LNG to Rio Tinto chartered dual-fueled bulk carrier Mount Api.

"The steady developments of our LNG bunkering solutions from truck operations to our Ship-to-Ship LNG bunkering activities today is a testament to the strong operational expertise of our team. Brassavola will play a key role in our efforts to promote environmental stewardship,” said Pavilion Energy Division Head of Singapore Hub Malcom Lim.
The vessel, which has a loading and bunkering rate of up to 2,000 cubic metres, was built by Seatrium Limited and delivered to the owner and Mitsui O.S.K Lines subsidiary Indah Singa Maritime.
