Sembcorp Gas to import natural gas from Indonesia's Mako field
It will import 76 billion British thermal units per day.
Sembcorp Gas, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Industries, has inked a sales deal with Conrad Asia Energy to import natural gas from Mako gas field in Indonesia.
Conrad has a 76.5% participating interest in the gas field.
Under the contract terms, Sembcorp will import 76 billion British thermal units (Bbtud) or 76.9 million standard cubic feet (mmscfd) daily.
The deal also permits the sale of an extra 35 Bbtud or about 35.4 mmscfd if a pipeline to Batam for the Indonesian market is not established and domestic market obligation (DMO) sales do not proceed. This potential export is outlined in the Mako Plan of Development (POD) 1 Revision.
The contract term will be until January 2037.
