Preliminary discussions with selected parties have commenced.
Sembcorp is exploring the potential divestment of SembWaste, its waste management business, and the energy from the waste plant.
The Singapore-based energy company revealed that preliminary discussions with selected parties have commenced.
“Sembcorp wishes to emphasise that the discussions are still preliminary, no definitive transaction has been entered into by Sembcorp in respect of such potential divestment with any party, and there is no certainty that any transaction will materialise,” the company wrote in an SGX filing.
The company has appointed HSBC as its financial advisor for the possible sale.
Sembcorp said that it will “make the necessary announcements as appropriate” or when there are any material developments regarding the potential sale.
