Sembcorp Marine snags contract for Dorado FPSO project
The contract involves front-end engineering design work.
Sembcorp Marine secured the contract from Altera Infrastructure concerning the Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading for the Dorado Project.
The contract covers the application of front-end engineering design work for the project, Sembcorp Marine said in a news release.
The project is located in the Bedout Sub-basin, Western Australia, Dorado and is composed of an oil and gas project. This is currently operated by Santos Ltd, an Australian energy company, and is slated to be one of the lowest emission intensity oil and gas projects in the region with approximately 1.5% CO2.
William Gu, Sembcorp Marine head of Rigs and Floaters, expressed hopefulness with this new partnership.
“We are excited to work with Altera Infrastructure and Santos to develop Dorado. The award of the FEED contract affirms Sembcorp Marine’s engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) capabilities; and reinforces our credentials as a leading engineering solutions provider for the offshore, marine, and energy industries.”
The work is expected to be finished by the second quarter of 2022 and is the group’s third EPC project in collaboration with Altera Infrastructure.
